Breaks · paid vs unpaid

Break Time Calculator

Enter a shift and its breaks — marked paid or unpaid — and get the exact paid hours. Plus the meal and rest break rules that actually apply in US states.

Breaks during the shift (minutes — mark paid rest breaks)

Paid rest breaks stay in your hours; unpaid meal breaks are deducted. Under the FLSA, short breaks of 5–20 minutes are normally paid time — meal periods of 30+ minutes can be unpaid.
