Estimates, not advice
Every result on Timesheet Calculator — hours, overtime splits, gross pay, conversions — is an estimate for informational purposes only. Nothing on this site is legal, tax, accounting, financial or payroll advice, and using it does not create any professional relationship.
Why results can differ from your paycheck
- Law is local and changing. Federal, state and city wage rules differ, carry industry exceptions, and are amended. Presets reflect the general rules cited on each page, not every exception.
- Contracts override defaults. Union agreements, alternative workweek schedules and employer policies can lawfully change overtime and break math.
- Gross ≠ net. We calculate gross pay only — taxes, benefits and other deductions are not estimated.
- Inputs decide outputs. Rounding settings, week-start day and break entries change results; an estimate is only as good as what's entered.
Where to verify
For binding answers, rely on your employer's payroll department, a licensed professional, the U.S. DOL Wage and Hour Division, or your state labor agency (for California, the DIR/DLSE).
